On Tuesday 28 November, RCC held a Case Interview Session on Profitability, with inputs from the book Case Interview Secrets (Victor Cheng). The session was kicked off by Gaia who gave a quick overview of the profitability issue tree and how one could go about using this to solve cases.
Most of the session was then spent on solving cases. Cato presented two profitability cases and went through them step-by-step with the group. The members were then paired up and given about 1.5 hours to solve 4 extra cases. Although they were tough, many of our members managed to do quite well. The evening was capped off with networking drinks in de Smitse.
Tim Thijsse, Director Netherlands at Progressive Recruitment came to the RSM Campus on 16 November to give a special Sales Masterclass to our RCC members. During the interesting and interactive evening session, Tim taught the students the basic sales skills, and gave them room to practice the stills immediately in a short role play. The evening started with a short introduction of Progressive Recruitment, and Tim’s experiences of working there. After that, he provided the students with tools, methods and techniques that can be used when selling propositions, such as the FF/NA method.
After the break, the Sales Masterclass continued with an interview training. How do you sell yourself? Many good tips and tricks were presented, and afterwards the club went to De Smitse for some well-deserved drinks.
On 11/11/2017, CORE Transform came from Berlin to provide RCC members with an entire day of case training. The event started at the RSM Campus with an introduction of the company, followed by a workshop on storylining. These new insights and skills could immediately be put into practice by the 32 selected students during two short cases on Tinder and FIFA. After the presentations, it was time for lunch and the student selection by CORE. 15 highly motivated and ambitious members were chosen to participate in the afternoon program. Together with the CORE consultants, they worked on a complex case study regarding the development of a digital customer interface.
All other RCC members were invited to join the RCC Case Interview Session. At the end of the day, CORE stated to be very impressed by the quality of the work our students have performed, and all members were invited to join the drinks at Pub Concordia. We are looking back at a great event, and looking forward to cooperate with CORE again next year!

On Monday 30 October, RCC held its first company event of the academic year in collaboration with KPMG.
Benjamin Bredero (Advisory) and Sebastian Preuss (Audit) came to the RSM campus to give a presentation on working at KPMG, and working in the Netherlands as an international. Our exclusive members had the opportunity to ask all the burning questions they had. After that, the KPMG consultants explained the basics of market analysis to our student consultants. This theory was put into practice immediately, as they were asked to solve a case on wheels.
After the groups had presented their solutions to the consultants, it was time for some well-deserved networking drinks.
